In the Studio

In the studio recordings are made to dedicated studio recording KORG and FOSTEX hardware multitrack recorders.
Effects processing is mostly internal with few outboard effects being used. Guitar sounds are recorded WET with whichever affects already present as this adds to the live feel of the songs which are spontaneous and created on the fly without any rehearsal. This isn't the traditional way to obtain clean recordings!
Mastering is usually on these recorders and additionally PC based systems are also used to add overall effects and atmospherics (sound effects) when these are needed.
Mix craft is used extensively for production of mp3 music files.
Drum machines are important as we don't have a resident drummer. the ZOOM RT323 is used as are the built in rhythm machines included in the Planet Phatt. PC based software is also used to provide rhythm tracks. Garage bands Human drummer has been used recently.
